KAYAKING

Kayak excursion through the coves of the Montgrí Massif From our beach center in l'Escala, there are two possible circuits. One to the north towards the Greek-Roman Ruins of Empúries and the town of Saint Martí d'Empúries and the other one goes first to the east and then south, outlining the coast of the Montgrí Massif towards Cala Montgó.

The excursion towards the north overruns the coastline of L'Escala till the Ruins of Empúries and St. Martí, traversing several sheltered beaches where one can stop over and take a swim, relax, have a drink in any of the beach-bars or practice some seawatching. There are so many nice places for it. The second excursion follows spectacular landscapes of the most pure Costa Brava, allowing to visit magnificent and beautiful coves. We recommend to do this excursion early in the morning, before the wind picks up, and accompanied by a safety boat as there are not many sheltered points where one can take a break.

SKIBUS

...Also known as Crazy Banana, torpedo, sausage, etc.

A SkiBus ride

A practical and funny transport. This cylinder of rubber which we call SkiBus, takes up to six people onboard and jumps over the waves towed by a power craft.

The SkiBus allows to do nice and comfortable rides, similar to those we propose for the kayaks and with same landscape interests. One of the most spectacular, outlines the Massif of Montgrí towards l'Estartit. This part of the Costa Brava is stuffed of deep coves due to do erosion and the calcareous nature of this Massif.

A different way to explore the coast.

BICYCLES

Bicycle riding across the Empordà
Funtastic has a flotilla of city and mountain bikes. These will be at your disposal when you book one of our weekly programmes, be it the Multi-activity Week, The Blue Week or the Funtastic Week.
With the bikes you can forget about the car during your holidays, being ideal to move around and visit the outskirts. A ride to for example, the Greek-Roman Ruins of Empúries is a must.

SEAWATCHING

Allows us to explore the sea from its surface with a light equipment: mask, fins and a neoprene wet suit. The Medes Islands are surely one of the most interesting spots in the Mediterranean for Snorkelling. That's why such activity can be combined with most of our weekly programs.
Sea watching is also a good alternative to scuba diving for the people not feeling so comfortable "under" the water.
