Sailing

The sailing school of Funtastic offers dinghy sailing and catamaran courses from its centre at the beach of Riells, south-east of the town of L'Escala, where the wind and wave conditions are soft.
We have a flotilla of dinghies ideal for beginners composed of RS Tera, RS Q’BA and RS Feva S. If you already know how to sail, you can use any of these sailboats as well as other for more experienced sailors with trapeze and gennaker like the RS Feva XL or RS Vision XL. Even more, you can try some of the sailboats of the RS Veleros test centre, like the RS500 or the single-handed RS Vareo and the very new RS100.
After a short theoretical introduction to the basis of sailing, such as: rigging up, wind, basic trimming, rudder and centreboard, courses, capsize and recovery... You'll be doing some basic practices within the channel of the school and right after, sail away on your own boat under the supervision of our instructors on the safety boat. Alternating periods sailing yourself and of being on the safety boat to receive further explanations, will help to accelerate your learning. We guarantee that you'll be sailing from the first day on.
 

Our sailing school follows the standards of the ISSA (International Sailing Schools Association), if you wish at the end of the course you can obtain the ISSA Logbook. The sailing courses are organized in sessions of two hours from Monday to Friday. We also offer a trial short course, which allows you to taste at sailing before enrolling yourself for a course and  is usually enough to go sail alone with a Tera or Q’BA in smooth wind and sea conditions.
